The West Indies team decided to bat first before winning the toss, but Pakistan's bowlers allowed the Caribbean team to make 153 runs in the 20 overs in six overs. Andre Fletcher top scored with 52 runs from the West Indies. Apart from Fletcher, Dinesh Ramdin contributed 42 runs.

Chasing a target of 154 runs, Pakistan won the toss and took two wickets in 16.5 overs.

Babar faced 40 balls in his innings and scored six boundaries. Chadwick Walton was dismissed for a total of 113. Before being dismissed, he gave the team a fantastic start in conjunction with Fakhr Jaman (40).

Fakhr played six fours and two sixes in 17 balls playing in a stormy form. Pakistan's first wicket as Fakhor dropped to a total of 62 on the second ball of the sixth over. After this Azam teamed up with Talat Hussain (31 not out) to take the team to victory.
