Ganguly's disclosure - India's coach was made by Chappell, ignoring veterans' warnings

Chapters of Greg Chappell have always been in the headlines in Indian cricket history. Captain Sourav Ganguly has once again made his side in the Chapel case, the biggest advocate for making Chappell the coach of the Indian team.

Chapters of Greg Chappell have always been in the headlines in Indian cricket history. Captain Sourav Ganguly has once again made his side in the Chapel case, the biggest advocate for making Chappell the coach of the Indian team. In his autobiography "A Century is Not Enough", Ganguly has written that he ignored the warnings of Greg's brother Ian Chappell and former India captain Sunil Gavaskar in 2005 when Greg Chappell was appointed as coach.
According to the book, Ganguly believed in the voice of his inner self regarding the appointment of Chappell. Before the appointment of Chappell's coach, Ganguly took his help. Even before the 2003 Australia tour, he went on a secret trip to get information about the plains and prepare himself and his teammates. He contacted Chapel because he believed that he would be the best person to help in his mission.
After these rounds, Ganguly was impressed with Chappell's cricket knowledge. Ganguly did not know that this would be the most controversial match of that period.
Regarding the appointment of Greg, the former Indian captain said that when the appointment of a new coach at the place of John Wright in 2004, the first name of his chappals came in his mind.
He wrote, "I felt that Greg Chappell would be the best person to lead us to number one in challenging situations. I told Jagmohan Dalmiya my choice.
Ganguly said," Some people had advised me not to take such a step. Sunil Gavaskar was also one of them. He had said Sourav think again about this. While staying with him (Gregg) you may have trouble with the team. His previous record of coaching has not been very good. "
He said that Dalmiya also called him in the morning to call for compulsory discussion by calling him.
Ganguly said, "He shared with faith that even so, his (Greg's) brother Ian also believes that Greg can not be the right choice for India. I decided to ignore all these warnings and heard the voice of my inner self. ''
He said, "Whatever happened after this is history. But that's life. It's life. Some things are favorable to you, like visiting my Australia and not as a chapter of Greg. I won that country but not one of its citizens.
